Update!

It's been a great few weeks... . Adrenalin that was for a while dormant filled my blood with a sense of purpose. A few events were happening during the time i did not update..

1) Hidayah's Wedding...17th August 2008.

Can i not go for this one? Of course not! It's the boss's wedding!! Hahahaha... but it was a beautiful, simple yet exquisite affair. I like.. the crowd wasn't overwhelming, the flow was good, the food was great and the ambience was exceptional.

The day began with a downpour so heavy we prayed it will not affect the wedding. The rainbow boys rented an MPV (a beaten one that is..) and we got picked up at the different locations. We headed to the shop to pick up the beautiful pair of baloons we specially made for the newly-weds.

And... we're potentially late! WHY!? cos the car wouldn't start...unless it's shaken (not stirred).

When we arrived at the wedding.. the groom had already arrived! And i was supposed to do Silat (as promised to the boss) and the kompang music was dying down. We signalled to the kompang group.. "Brother..Two more! Wait..." And the beat struck hard signalling the beginning of our Impromptu silat presentation... Idafi went first as a warm-up while the three of us planned our grand finale... When idafi stepped off the narrow passageway.. I entered. Bukak jek silat sembarang! Hahaha...bunga-bunga...but the unique thing was the two guys (Sherman and Azri escorting slowly 3 paces behind with the two baloons...

With big smiles from the bride and groom's face, we knew we did what we set out to do.

Here's a few pics of the beautifully adorned bride and groom. The nice vivid colours are not photoshopped!! But they're courtesy of my Nokia N-something... hahaha.

The first set of traditional attire... more akin to the traditional Malay royal costume..

The colours totally matched the entire setting, including the default paintworks in the Multi-Purpose Hall! Alot of thought must have been put into planning for the big day i guess (cos Hidayah took 2 weeks off for this too!)..

This is the second set of attire... beautiful blue.

This one is more akin to the Traditional Indonesian Jawa costume.

But i like the wedding cake the most! Traditional to the max! PULUT KUNING!!! My favourite.. my only peeve for this... notice the udang galahs circumbulating the pulut??

Hehehe...not my idea of a cake...but still unique!

Well, after that..Me and Idafi sang with the live band as promised... but only one song! Hahaha...it was scary! The song wasn't really played the way it is from the records or from what we know it of.. the chords were right but we couln't get the timing ryt at times due to the sonic barrage thumping in our ear drums... plus.. we did not know how to end!! So it went on till abt 5 mins... quite long for Gadis Melayu! Hahaha...

At the wedding, i met some friends too... Maly and her naughtily-cute lil bro Izzuddin and also Rad, a silat friend. Small world...

Actually, the phrase 'small community' fits better.

Then...

2) Fireworks Festival - The one by the French.

You can see it from the stoink faces!

Beautifully orchestrated Fireworks with matching accompanying music...

Very 'french' music...

you wouldn't need to hear the announcement that this firework was done by the French contingent but with the colours of the lightings and the songs.... pure french.

Well, at least the wet seat did not stop me ffrom falling asleep from the boring pre-show and the long wait.. hahaha... got a quick nap of i dunno how long... bt who cares! I felt refreshed after that.

Well... this was the best my Noki-Anny can conjure...

" Fire-fly in the sky...."

Artwork, beautifully textured and layered backed by the dark smoked out velvet sky...

And...

Work at the office piled up... unsettled cases amount to this much... (see pic below...)

ut... The 3rd job interview so far is coming soon and hopefully this time i get accepted...as they say, "3rd time lucky" kan? Hahaha..

Well, am not including those who tricked me abt some trainee thingy but which turn out to be insurance/ wealth management job...

I dun mind if u tell me it's wealth management but dun trick me!

Plus... the interview and the questions are so skewed towards telling me that undergrads need to do sales, then they're ambitious and driven people... other people are normal... Huh?? I believe he's in his own world...

Well, go ahead then...

And.... the rainbow boys just declared Monday as tie-days...

Cya in ties tomorrow!

May Allah guide us all..bless us with happiness and health n protect us from the dangers of this world, physically or mentally. Help us become successful people in the world and after...
