A bid to keep to my 2010 new year's resolutions...

OK guys..i guess at some point of time, u may question why a muslim has a strict form diet. Like, a muslim can't eat pork meat..got to look out for the 'Halal' label or so when buying meat products or other products. WHY? U may ask.. until a point of time where u just accept it and go along with it not knowing why.
I have here..a conversation between a muslim and a person of another religion. (Its completely fictatious) I hope it will enlighten, at least a bit, to the ppl who ask 'why?'..it's good to want to find out things. And for muslims..i believe that a lot of you tend to just conform to the religion. Remember..Islam is a way of life. It's not meant to restrict you or trouble you. There's a reason for everything..if ur friends ask and you dun noe the answer..Find out, do some research. That's how many more people came to embrace the religion too..
Here goes..

Bob: Tell me why is it that a Muslim is very particular about the words Halal and Haram; what do they mean?

Yunus: That which is permissible is termed Halaal and that which is not permissible is termed Haraam and it is the Quran which draws the distinction between the two.

Bob: Can you give me an example?

Yunus: Yes, Islam has prohibited blood of any type. You will agree that a chemical analysis of blood shows that it contains an abundance of uric acid, a chemical substance which can be injurious to human health.

Bob: You're right about the toxic nature of uric acid, in the human being it is excreted as a waste product and in fact we are told that 98%of the body's uric acid is extracted from the blood by the kidneys and removed through urination.

Yunus: Now I think that you'll appreciate the special prescribed method of animal slaughter in Islam.

Bob: What do you mean?

Yunus: You see, the wielder of the knife, whilst reciting the name of the 'Almighty', makes an incision through the jugular veins, leaving all other veins and organs intact.

Bob: I see, this causes the death of the animal by a total loss of blood from the body, rather than an injury to any vital organ.

Yunus: Yes, were the organs, example the heart, the liver, or the brain crippled or damaged, the animal could die immediately and its blood would congeal in its veins and would eventually permeate the flesh. This implies that the animal flesh would be permeated and contaminated with uric acid and therefore very poisonous; only today did our dieticians realize such a thing.

Bob: Again, while on the topic of food; Why do Muslims condemn the eating of pork or ham or any foods related to pigs or swine?

Yunus: Actually, apart from the Quran prohibiting the consumption of pork, bacon (pig flesh); in fact the Bible too in Leviticus chapter 11, verse 8, regarding swine it says, "of their flesh (of the swine, another name for pig) shall you not eat, and of their carcass you shall not touch; they are unclean to you." Further, did you know that a pig cannot be slaughtered at the neck for it does not have a neck; that is according to its natural anatomy. A Muslim reasons that if the pig was to be slaughtered and fit for human consumption the Creator would have provided it with a neck. Nonetheless, all that aside, I am sure you are well informed about the harmful effects of the consumption of pork, in any form, be it pork chops, ham, bacon.

Bob: The medical science finds that there is a risk for various diseases the pig is found to be a host for many parasites and potential diseases.

Yunus: Yes, even apart from that, as we talked about uric acid content in the blood, it is important to note that the pig 's biochemistry excretes only 2% of its total uric acid content, the remaining 98% remains as an integral part of the body.

Recently..i receive this email from my friend..what you read below is the edited version as the original seems kind of negative to me and i added in some stuffs to spur your thoughts.

"Nobody is perfect until you fall in love with them. Even then, it doesn't mean you don't change ur bad habits and characters that irks your loved ones!?! Always change for the better..CHANGE is the only constant thing in the world.

Love starts with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a tear? Isn't this what people always tell U? Then why not let it be tear of joy and happiness for that special someone. The hardest thing to watch is the sight of the want you desire wanting and being by somebody else. But its the opposite if you really love someone..Wouldn't you want the best for that person? Let it be you then! Make yourself the best person for that special someone.

It's easy to want someone to be the the type of person you want them to be...but it's difficult to be the best person for that someone special. But wouldn't it make it easier for them?

Good friends are hard to find, harder to leave, and impossible to forget. A best friend is like a four leaf clover, hard to find and lucky to have. Some people make the world special by just being in it. Best friends are the siblings God forgot to give us. When it hurts to look back, and you're scared to look ahead, you can look beside you and your best friend will be there. True friendship never ends. Friends are forever. Good friends are like stars....you don't always see them, but you know they are always there.

Don't frown, you never know who is falling in love with your smile. Some whine..ALL the time. People tend to forget the qualities that made u loved..being in love doesn't mean that special someone can be a place where u dump all your sorrows..CONSTANTLY. U may forget to cheer up that special person in the end. Don't let the word "Be Yourself" dictate your relationship..but..be someone that made you loved.

Most people walk in and out of your life, but only friends leave footprints in your heart..the footprints of journeys you had together.

If u love something...let it go. If it comes back to you its yours....If it doesn't then, it doesn't necessarily mean it' s never meant to be. It' s just never was at that point of time.

A kiss is just a kiss until you are kissed by the one you love. A hug is just a hug until its from the one you thinking of. A dream is just a dream until u make it come true. LOVE is just a word until you feel it."

Remember..action speaks louder than words. Life is NEVER one-dimensional..EVERYONE is a link to someone else..what U do affects many other poeple. View life from many perspectives!
