A bid to keep to my 2010 new year's resolutions...

quote that I believe
is so true about this: "Fate brings you
together, but it's still up to you
to make it happen."

I do believe that soul mates do exist. That
there is truly someone
made for you. But it's still up to you to make
the choice if you're going to
do something about it or not. We may meet our
soul mates by chance, but
loving and staying with our soul mate is still
a choice we have to make.We
came to the world not by finding someone
perfect to love ...BUT to learn how to love an
imperfect person perfectly!"

Got this from a friendster bulletin message. This will be my sharing note for today!

I read this phrase when i read this book.. I have this book entitled "Essential Sufism" by Nick Fadigan if im not wrong. My frens gave me this book for my 19th birthday. Its quite cool..the sides of the pages are not cut by 'torn'..the pages are not even abd it's yellowed. Seems cool. The book is divided into chapters, each containing phrases regarding the theme of the chapter like God, love, teacher, student and etc.. It's not a story book or a book that preaches Islam but its a book of phrases, poems and anecdotes taken from the people who graced the past centuries..

However, reading this book may confuse some cause they talk of drinking wine and all.. sort of extreme sometimes if ur foundation is not stable..Just adopt an open mind and filter off those which u feel are wrong.

"Truth is greater than falsehood.

God will sieve the truth from the grey,

Remember, always adopt an open mind. Guide yourself with the fundamentals you have learnt..

Its hard to stand firm with values most of the time. Who will u really be if u float with the thoughts of others? Maybe next time i'll talk about 'The Art of War" by famed war strategist Sun Tzu. There is a lot to learn from his book too. Someday i'll share cos i need to re-cap. (Its been 2yrs since i last read the book.)

For all those who know abt the cat n kittens in Li Yuan's bunk..one passed away today in the late afternoon. Tink she was sick..it looked very weak thru the day. It is now laying peacefully behind the HQ block..marked by a brick. My grandaunt passed away too. May God bless their souls.

RE: MEETING FOR FINAL COORD WITH MINAH FAIRING

Dear Minah Jiwang,

As you may have realised, our nation's 39th year of independance is approaching very near. As of every year, we have planned for a celebration to be held by thousands of Singaporean who can congregate together to witness performances and displays of our nation's pride.

This year, I have been tasked to act as the secretary for the secretary of this sub-unit who is tasked to handle background operations. Tasks such as facilitating traffic control, carparking, ushering of spectators, tickets management, invitations, seatings and area manegement has been tasked to 4 SIR to manage. An unglamorous task, arduous and challenging yet most important.

My job is basically to kill trees to maintain our unit's professional outlook and looking at cue table day-in day-out till i memorise the whole events which unfold during show dates. I also take punches and act as the cheese so that people can make sandwich of me. A job you may ask and i say yes. I am the overpaid clerk cum storeman and underpaid secretary. Average them out and i earn my pay. Overworked yet overlooked and yet i smile everyday.

Why smile when i should sulk? Why not vent out and complain? Why not get frustrated? The main thing i am trying to learn, and still trying, is the ability to sieve out and find order amidst chaos. To find peace within myself when my routine gets into havoc.

I smile because i choose to. Why be sad when i can be happy. Life is a choice one make. Others can force unto them anything but ultimately everything in life comes to this choice of YES or NO. I choose to love what i am doing because i may never have this opportunity to learn these skills. I take it as a chance to sharpen my skills to benefit my future. I may fail and people may obviously look down on me but will they acquire what i have learnt? Painful as it may be but it boils down to the question of perspective.

If i give you a rose, (You will prefer carnations though..but its not in the story!)..U can either choose to get pricked by its numerous thorns or be captivated by the beauty of its creation. (You can even eat it too..JCC Style!)

Life may suck, i choose to love it.

So, dear Najee,

NDP is not as fun as it may seem for the planning committee. But it sure is enriching as like the other experiences in our lives. It is just whether we want to open our eyes and minds to see it and accept it.

So I hope in my boredom I gave you enrichment, so my time will not be lost and wasted. Thank you for the companionship you sheltered me with and I have indeed learnt a lot from our friendship and hope you had too.

I went to popular bkstore today and saw this book..bu the Dalai Lama. Seems interesting, the title is 'The Art of being Happy at Work'. IMPOSSIBLE? Hmm.. i read and remembered this part inside.. Someone was asked this question, "What do u do for a living?"
He paused and thought..and thought.. at last he answered.."NOTHING." he replied. Dalai Lama said that if he was to be asked that question..his answer will be the same. Because..in life.. if you are to do something you like.. time flies at a speed even Superman tinks he cannot catch up. Then, you will wish you had more time..and you seem to have not done anything. Thus you did NOTHING. But not many things in life is that fun. U can either find one that's fun or make it fun. I have this friend of mine at OCS who hecked what the world tinks of him. He may not have chosen wat he did but he made sure he enjoyed it!! And boy did he influence and rub on that spirit to ppl ard him.. He is a devout Christian but it doesnt hinder me from praying alonside him.. sharing our prayers. Life is not about picking out mistakes and differences. It's about making good friends..about feeling peacefulness and finding equilibrium in oneself. PEACE..u can find happiness if u first find inner peace. It spreads out like wildfire.. the irony of yin and yang. I'll read the book someday and see what i can share. OKOK..me smsing wif Naj now.. our routine surveys and battle of who-sleeps-first!! I tink i may lose tonite..my eyes getting heavy!

Today had TTX..from 1500hr till 2000hr!!? Wadda hell man..listen2 until i blurr tiao. Have to change quite some stuff on the cue table. My Gosh..and my file had to be left behind in S2's car!?! How 'zai' can i get? Kidz nowadays..today Beng's Birthday. cellebrated Ron's birtday too..now i smell of cake!! Sheesh..ate 'dragon's beard' too. not bad. NDP is draggy man..need to take my mind off it!

But it is not his day..
Naj sick today. sort of expected it when she complained about the drastic change fo weather from her cold lab to the hot weather outside. Hope she gets well! Vivien turned 18..tot she was 19!! HAHAHA..called her 2min b4 12midnite..too earky and ended up not being 1st..HAHAA..She's craazie la tat lil gal. Plan to go out with beng, hongmin and her to celebrate our birthdays together at the midpoint in between our birthdates.
Had a tuff day at work today..One MAJ Chee chasing me for work tat i dunno of and the other end i had a meeting to prep for and a TTX to prep for the following day?!! SHAG GILerR!! HAHAHA..but i need to keep my mind strong..YAKIN!
I smses Pozack today too..apparently sheez giving tuition to these 2 victims of hers!! HAHA..she waiting for her exam results.
